About Stanton California
Incorporated in 1956 Stanton is a city in Northern Orange County, California with a population of around 37,962 people. Stanton neighbors Garden Grove, Anaheim, and Cypress. The city of Stanton was named after a Republican assemblyman for the city of Los Angeles, Philip A. Stanton who served from 1903 to 1909. Originally Stanton was incorporated in 1911 but the residents voted to disincorporate the city so that they could sidestep the cost of having to build roads. In the 1950s the area of Stanton experiences a post world war 2 boom and by 1956 the residents voted to reincorporate to prevent the land from being annexed by neighboring cities.
